Snow in Texas!

In Texas we rarely get snow, it's usually just ice and it's awful!

But this year I was surprised by how much snow was pouring out of the sky...I've never seen anything like it here in Texas. We got 6 inches in a matter of hours...that's a big deal.

We were let out of work early on Friday because it hit around noon, so I went by my nephews school and grabbed him. Stace and Jason had gone down to Houston for the weekend, so Chance and I were watching Jax...and getting practice for what life is going to be like in a few years!

Here he is all cuddled up and ready to go....had we known it was going to take 3 hours just to get home, we would've packed more snacks! Stace had sent me with all his bags and snacks on Thursday night, so when I got home I had taken them out of my car. So all we had was a small bag of crackers I had leftover in my purse. Hey looky there...I already passed the first test...have a snack ready to go in your purse!

Over the weekend we played out in the yard, had snow ball fights and built a snowman!

Here are a few pics of our house covered in snow....our first snow pics of the house!

We came inside and Rylee went straight for the fire to warm up!

Jax and I cuddled in my warm bed...and I let him eat chips in my bed! Best aunt ever!
Sweet little face!

That night our neighbors, who we had been meaning to go over and meet for so long, stopped by to ask if we needed anything because they were risking the roads and heading out to the grocery store. While they were there Chance and I showed them around the house and they invited us over for dinner. We are so excited to have such awesome neighbors! Thanks for dinner Tara and Brian! It was delicious and we can't wait for more hangouts!

Getting ready to go next door for dinner, and so Jax can play with their 11 month old.

The next morning Jax insisted we have a superhero breakfast...and we couldn't say no to something as awesome as that!

Ski Trip to Breckenridge, Co - NYE '13-'14

This year we decided we needed to go skiing over our Christmas break!Chance and my cousin, Chris, had never skied before, so we were really looking forward to laughing at them ;)Stacey and I are ready to go!
We landed and got our rental car...which was really spacious! haha NOT....I have a picture down below of how much leg room my cousin had.On our way to Breckenridge, we stopped in Idaho Springs for some pizza and beer at Beau Jo's.We were celebrating Jason (Dec 26) and Chance's (Dec 29) birthdays!
Chance and I on Main St in Idaho Springs

We went skiing 2 days and neither Chance or Chris got ski lessons....we told them we would teach them ;)Chris did really well and Chance.....well not so much :( Let's just say that on the first day Chance and I spent a substantial amount of our "ski time" at the bar at Base 8, hehe. But that night he watched a lot of self help videos and when we got out there the 2nd day, you would've thought Chance had been skiing his whole life. I couldn't believe it and I was so excited and proud of him!I grouped all of our pictures together in categories and not how they happened. So all of the ski pictures are together, all of downtown Breck pics are together, tubing pics, etc...So here are the SKI pictures!
Chance and I hanging out at the bar at the Base of Peak 8
PIZZA...that's all I kept yelling at him. PIZZA HARDER!
Womp Womp :( This was from Day 1

I just have to post these videos of the Chance.
So this first video is Chance on day #1
The fall is right at the very beginning, but he recovers nicely :)

This is a video of Chance on day #2. It's like night and day!

This is just a funny video of Chance not able to get off the fence. I just wanted a picture and it turned into a whole ordeal.

Ouch! This is Chris!

We went to Frisco to go night tubing and we had a BLAST!Stacey, Jason and I had night tubed before (Winter 2008 trip to Winter Park with the family) but Chris and Chance hadn't, and it was probably the most fun part of the trip!
This was the view from our condo:

Here are a few pictures of downtown Breck on Main Street
Yes, we had a snowball fight :)
Here are a few pictures from NYE night. We had an awesome dinner at a Steakhouse. Missed the parade and fireworks because we were eating and totally forgot :(

After dinner we headed back to our hotel because every bar had a a huge cover, like $100 just to get in, so we brought in the new year at a cool bar at our hotel. When we got there we were looking around and noticed there weren't many girls.....and Chance, Jason and Chris looked at each other and we all started laughing because we all realized we were at a gay bar. It was so much fun and we couldn't have asked for a better group of people to bring in the new year with. It was awesome!
Here are a few pictures of the new coaster Breckenridge put in. It was really fun, but a little short for the price :(

Here is the video of the ride....yes that is me giggling.

Here is the picture of my cousin Chris in the back seat....check out all that leg room!
I decorated for Chance's birthday!

And I made him his favorite no bake cookies. I had to text his mom for the recipe, so when I finished I was sure to send her a pic :)

Time to go back home :(

Until next time Breck :)
