Chance's Uncle is married!

Chance and I were really looking forward to his uncle's wedding in New York!

Friday morning, we headed to the airport. We grabbed breakfast and jumped on the plane. Luckily, I slept the entire plane ride there. I don't think I have ever done that, but we had to wake up at 4am.

Goodbye Dallas...

A few hours later, we landed and headed to rent a car.

Here is a pic I took of Chance chauffeuring us around

Our first stop...Oheka Castle for lunch. Chance and I love the show Royal Pains, and when I found our that Boris' home was actually a castle in Huntington, we had to go!
The drive in...

Chance and I had lunch on the patio...

While sitting there at lunch we saw these gentlemen enjoying a nice lunch, and this guys comes over and introduces himself as Gary and says "Welcome to my home" and Chance and I are just like "Ok, thanks so nice to meet you." As soon as he walks away we look at each other and we think "welcome to his home?" So I jumped on my phone and Googled owner of Oheka Castle and sure enough, Gary Melius pops up and it shows a picture and it was that guy! Our waiter ended up telling us that Gary actually owned it back in the day, sold it and then purchased it back years ago. Our waiter also told us that he has some friends in Waxahachie that he flies down to see all the time. What a small world!

After lunch, we headed to check into our hotel and get ready for the rehearsal dinner.
Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures this night :(

The next morning we woke up and drove around Long Island. First stop, Cold Spring Harbor. The drive was incredible! The view was amazing, everyone here takes such great care of their yards, and the flowers that can grow up here are insane. I saw this enormous Hydrangea bush/tree and I couldn't believe my eyes! Not to mention the weather was amazing, so we drove around with the windows down the entire time.
Here are a few pictures on our way to lunch at Harbor Mist.

Lunch at Harbor Mist was right across the street from the Harbor.
I got Clam Chowder and a Crab Cake
 Chance got a Lobster Roll
After lunch we walked around Main St for a bit. We came across this really cool Church that was built in 1842.

We also went into some old Antique Shops, and then decided to head over to downtown Huntington Station.

We stopped into Sapsuckers and tried some really good local brews.

After our beer tasting, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding.
The wedding was hosted at Chance's Uncle Kevin, and his partner of 10.5 years, Louie's house.
It was so incredibly beautiful!
Chance's Mom (the Matron of Honor) and Louie's Best Man
Kevin and his mom (Chance's grandmother)
 The vows :)
 Congrats to the happy couple!
We are so thrilled that you guys wanted us there and we are so happy that the US Supreme Court passed same sex marriage.
We love you guys!
The wedding was travel theme. Louie is a pilot and Kevin is an air-traffic controller, and they love to travel the world.

 Chance and I
The next morning, a few of us met up for brunch to celebrate the happy couple.
After brunch, we drove into the city, parked the Tahoe as soon as we could, so we didn't have to drive it around the tiny streets in SoHo. Then we walked down the street to his Australian friend's apartment. Chance met Andrew while spending a summer in Australia. Andrew and his fiancee Lauren got married and moved to the US 3 weeks later. They have now been in the New York City for almost 2 years. When we arrived they were at church, but had left the keys in the deli cash register below their apartment. So we grabbed the keys, finally got the door unlocked, walked up three flights of stairs with our luggage and into the apartment. At first the apartment seemed small, but after hanging out in it a bit, it was actually the perfect amount of space.
Their front door is the brown one, and then there is a pic of their entire building.

We walked around SoHo for a bit, did some window shopping and then found a bar that wasn't too crowded and spent out Sunday watching football at The Grayson.

Once they were back in town, we met up with them at their apartment and all walked to West Village to have dinner at Aria Wine Bar. We sat underground in this awesome wine cellar. The walls were covered in white subway tile, and it was so New York feeling!

After dinner, we Uber'd back to their apartment and stopped into Oficina Latina for a drink. The guys got Jalapeno Margaritas and Lauren and I got Mojitos.
Here are a few pictures of the place I found online, because I didn't take any that night :(

After a few drinks, we walked back to their apartment and all went to bed.
The next morning, I loved waking up to the window open and listening to the people walking around and talking downstairs. This was a Monday morning, so there wasn't too much traffic.
But this was our cute view when we woke up.
We got up, got ready and walked around. We went to this cute little restaurant for breakfast called Ruby's Cafe in Nolita. This is an Australian cafe and we both got the B.L.A.T (Bacon, Lettuce, Avocado, Tomato). They used some kind of spicy Australian dressing, not sure what it was, but it was amazing!

After breakfast, we walked up north to Washington Square Park and sipped on some coffee.
Some pics I took as we strolled the streets.

We headed back to the apartment, packed our bags and hit the road. Thanks Andrew and Lauren so much for letting us stay with you guys, we loved your place!
We then drove out to CitiField to get a tour from Chance's old boss, who know works for the Mets.

After our tour, we headed back to drop off our car, then to the airport and headed back to Dallas!
