Starting with the study:
For Christmas Santa brought us a new desk, so Chance put it together for us...he spent hours and hours building this. I hope he is proud, because I love it! Thanks Santa ;)
A few things to note:
- I still need to decorate the shelves, that is just stuff we had laying around and I wanted to get it off the floor. So the shelves are built, but the decor is by no means complete
- The back wall has been a little tough. I didn't realize I had bought an oil based primer, and a water based paint. We used all of the primer in the Study, so when we did the same treatment in the Master I had to go buy more and that time I happened to grab the water base, so we didn't have this issue in the Master. The water base paint bubbled up really bad and looked bad so I just stopped....so more to come on the completed wall later!
- We would like to get wood floors, so this rug will look a lot better under the desk than it does on the carpet. I hate that they are such similar colors.
Ok, onto the Living Room:
Things to note in this room:
- Again, we would like wood floors. I hate carpet in general, and then you add a 80 lb lab who sheds constantly in the mix, who is an indoor dog, and it's just gross! Not to mention the couch and carpet are the same color...ugh!
- I need to decorate the cool wooden table Stace gave me!
- We want to purchase an armoire for the TV
- The picture collage on the back wall will continue to grow...possibly. Haven't decided what I want to do with it.
- Eventually we will purchase a new coffee and end table!
- We will also be buying curtains, and moving the mirror.
- In the meantime, Rylee is really enjoying her fireplace :)
Moving on to the guest side of the house:
Things to note in the hall closet/guest bathroom:
- I would like to buy cute wooden baskets for the linens
- I painted this bathroom one night after work, and couldn't reach the area above the shower, so Chance got in there a few days ago and finished it up for me :) Thanks babe!
- I also painted the grey hall way but only as far as I could reach, so he finished the top half of that as well!
We have SO much to do in these two guest rooms:
- For now we just have the beds in there and I threw linens on them.
- We ordered the nightstand and dresser for the master, and when it arrived the dresser had a little damage on the top right corner. Not enough to not be usable, most people don't even see it, but it was enough for us to care about because they were not cheap. The dresser didn't have the handles pre-attached so we attached them ourselves and one of the handles would not allow a screw to go in, so I emailed the vendor and let them know about the dresser damage and asked for a new handle....they apologized for the inconvenience and sent us another nightstand and dresser! So now the Queen guest room has furniture!
Moving on to the master:
- Again, we want wood floors in here.
- We will decorate the TV wall, might possibly mount the TV on the wall
- We will get a reading chair and lamp for the corner to the right of the TV
