My New Job @ Dr Pepper Snapple Group

The time has come....time to grow up and get a big girl job....again. I use to work full time and attend night school full time for a while so this should be a piece of cake!

I applied to a few companies but the one I was most excited about was Dr Pepper.
I got a call to interview for one of the positions I had applied for. I wasn't super thrilled about it but I thought what the heck the interview will be good practice for me since I haven't interviewed in so long. After learning more about their company and the position it just didn't feel right so I did not accept.

A few days later I receive a call saying Dr Pepper would like to interview....holy cow....is this really happening right now?! YES!

I have an interview with two ladies, named Paula and Elizabeth, and this place seems like so much fun! I think my interview went well and I just have to play the waiting game at this point.

A few days go by and they call me to tell me that I have made it through to the next round and I have a phone interview with the Director, Lauren who works out of NY. For days I practiced interview questions and responses....it consumed my life....seriously!

After the phone interview I felt really good about it. Lauren was so nice and she use to work at Nordstrom just like me, so we bonded over that.

A few days later I receive a call and when I see it's Dr Pepper I'm shaking.....is this it? Is this the call to tell me I got the job? Or is this the call to tell me I didn't get the job? Oh gosh....ok answer....they want me to interview with one more lady....WHAT?! I'm so anxious and nervous and the interviews are never ending. But it's great because I'm getting good practice out of them and I'm meeting new people. So for this interview I went back up to Dr Pepper headquarters in Plano, where I would work if I got hired, and interviewed with the VP, Jaxie and it went great!. Again, when I walked in it just felt right.

The next day my phone rings and it's Dr Pepper....oh my gosh is this it?!.........."We are calling to let you know that we will be in touch in about a week with an answer for you"......oh, ok, thanks for the update :(

I was really bummed because it didn't sound too promising and then I started playing the "what if" game with myself. What if I didn't answer they way they wanted me to? What if they didn't like my personality? Just a million "what if" questions.

I think Chance could tell it was getting me, so he decided we should go to his parents for a few days. I'm not sure what gave it away....oh maybe because it was all I talked about at all times of the day! His parents live out away from the city on some land so we like to go out there and relax. The stars are so much brighter and the air is a lot more clean it feels like. And of course Rylee loves running around!

It wasn't but about 3 days later (I expected not to hear back from them until a week) when my phone rang and it was Dr Pepper. I jumped off the couch and ran outside because my service isn't that great in the living room. Did I mention they lived in the country? I was outside in the driveway when the HR lady was telling me that they loved me and would like to offer me the position if I wanted to accept. I could give them a verbal answer right then and there on the spot if I would like. I immediately accepted but my phone was cutting out so she couldn't hear me and the call dropped. NOOOO!!!!! She called me back and I was finally in a good spot, I was jumping for joy and accepted on the spot! After some paperwork and legalities (I had to prove I graduated from UNT because UNT was claiming I wasn't a student, so I had to pay a company to look into and UNT came back and said "Oh wait, yes she was a student!" ha Thanks UNT!) I was on my way to starting my career as the Media Coordinator for Dr Pepper Snapple!

After all the interviews and waiting it was definitely worth it. I ended up interviewing with my boss Paula, her boss Lauren and her boss Jaxie. So I was able to meet all of my bosses during the interviews!
