First, we started by removing the baseboard. We didn't have all of the tools needed because they were in my dads truck and he was gone for the weekend. We ended up using a chisel and screw driver to get it off.
Second step, add the shiplap. We used pine tongue and groove and my mom wanted it to run vertically, instead of horizontally like I have in my house.
The only problem we encountered is that when we got to the end, we didn't need a whole 6 inch piece, we only needed 2 inches, so we used my dads new saw (shhh...don't tell him!) and we cut the length of the wood. We got back upstairs and it fit in the space perfectly!
Third step, cover all the knots so they don't bleed through your paint with primer. We used BIN and we love it!
Fourth step, add the top piece of wood across the entire wall and reattach the baseboard.
Fifth step, sand, paint, sand, paint, sand, paint!
Sixth step, add your decorations!
Don't you just love it! I think it turned out great.
