I love California....if it isn't raining, the weather is perfect!
For this trip I went to a few different places, lots of pics below!
HOLLYWOOD - a district in the central region of LA.
When you go into the Dolby theater area/mall you are able to see the Hollywood sign better!
This is inside the outdoor mall area
There are a ton of characters on Hollywood Blvd
Originally named Graumann's Chinese Theater and renamed Mann's Chinese Theater in 1973. This theatre opened May 18, 1927. It has since been home to many premieres, including the 1977 launch of Star Wars and 3 Academy Awards ceremonies.
Now on to VENICE and MARINA DEL RAY.
Venice is a beachfront neighborhood in the Westside district of LA.
The area was founded in 1905 as a seaside resort town, and is now known for its canals, beaches, and circus-like Ocean Front Walk, a 2 1/2 mile pedestrian-only promenade that features performers, fortune-tellers, artists and vendors.
Marina del Rey is an affluent unincorporated seaside community in LA. The Marina is the world's largest man-made small craft harbor with 19 marinas with a capacity to hold 5,300 boats.
On the way back to Venice I took a few pictures of these really neat houses!
There were lots of street performers!
Street vendors
These "Dr's" were all over!
Switching gears now, away from the beach and to UNIVERSAL STUDIOS.
Universal Studios is a movie studio and theme park in Universal City. It is one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood movie studios still in use.
There are a lot of fun shops and restaurants!
They also had one of those gravity free flying things!
Time to head down South.....to The SAN DIEGO ZOO.
SD Zoo houses over 3,700 animals of more than 650 species and subspecies. It sits an 100 acres of beautiful parkland leased from the city.
This is the biggest rodent in the world, ewww! A Capybara.
Some people think the way camels survive in the desert is because they store water in their humps, but that's wrong. They actually store fat in the humps!
They had an amazing Elephant Odyssey. You could walk around the entire area, so no matter where the elephants were you could see them!
Mr. Lion was tired, and if you look closely his tongue is sticking out.
This guy made me laugh, it looks like his behind got shaved!
This turtle has a very long neck!
This picture is for you mom :)
A peacock just running around the zoo!
Pacific Beach!
