RENT Musical

My mom surprised my sister, Stacey, and I with Broadway tickets to see RENT at the Dallas Music Hall. Before the show we went to NorthPark Mall to eat at La Duni. La Duni is an awesome Latin restaurant that is a must try! If you can't make it to the NorthPark location, not to worry, they have an Oak Law and McKinney Ave location as well!

Mimosas for brunch are a must when out with the girls :)

This was my first Broadway show to go to and it was INCREDIBLE! I sang the entire time. I almost felt bad for the people around me but hey, thats what musicals are for, right?! And I just so happened to know all the words to all the songs because I have the movie and watch it ALL the time!

For those of you who haven't heard of RENT. It is considered a "Rock Musical" and tells the story of a group of impoverished young artisits and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York City's Lower East Side in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.

Did you know that RENT was first seen in a limited three-week workshop production in New York Theatre Workshop in 1994 and that this show won a Pulitzer Prize, and the production was a hit?!
